Quote: Worst part of the movie is the scene with the giant US flag, really poor.
Why is that?
Bit cheesy is all, nothing wrong with being patriotic though!
I have not seen the movie yet. Was just wondering in the context of the story if it was poor, or he was just a USA basher/hater...
Oh, and it is a bad thing for an American to be patriotic these days, just as it is for a white man to be proud of his heritage...
I think it was more to do with that fact that he flies in with the US flag behind him, and i couldn't help but think to myself "...but both the bad guys in question are also american... i don't get it"
There is no context in that film with which to be patriotic. It just seems like the whole waving flag thing was there just for the sake of being there, to pander to the test audiences.
I just watched it too. It reminded me of X-Men 3. Too many characters, too many storylines in one film and too interested in hitting certain plot-type quotas because they're more intersted pleasing as many people as possible rather than artistic integrity.

Not as good as #2, which imho, was/is one of the best superhero films ever made. The other being Batman Begins, which is still my personal reigning champ of hero flicks.
The first two Spiderman movies were campy and cheesy. And I dont know how you can consider Spidey #2 and Batman Begins to be better than the first Batman (Jack Nicholson as Joker ffs). The first two X-Men movies tower over Spiderman. Spiderman, all of them, were made for children.
How you consider the X-Men films any different from the Spiderman films baffles me. They're aimed at the same target audience.

Not that I'm saying that's what that scene was like (not seen it yet), but I think that's what he's getting at
That's actually not that far off
